Are you a saltwater aquarium enthusiast looking for the most reliable and best performing aquarium powerhead brand? Would like to increase your aquarium’s water movement to simulate a reef environment? Hydor Koralia Powerheads can be a very affordable solution for any of those problems. Hydor Koralia pumps are extremely popular amongst hobbyists and have received excellent reviews.

A good aquarium powerhead will be reliable, durable, easy to clean, and economic (using less energy = less heat in the aquarium). If you purchase Hydor Koralia water pumps you won’t be disappointed. There are many sizes available to meet the needs of a nano aquarium or large reef tank. Hydor Koralia pumps generate a powerful, but wide spread water stream, which is unlike traditional powerheads that create a pressurized jet. This is far more natural for corals and you will notice an immediate difference.

The included Magnet Mounting System allows versatile aquarium placement without the fear of creating a sand storm. It easy to install and to remove for cleaning. The magnet mounting system measures 2.75″ in diameter and is suitable for aquarium glass up to .5″ thick. Koralia Nano suction cup and magnet mounting system is 1.75″ in diameter and is also suitable for aquarium glass up to .5″ thick. Unlike many powerheads, the Koralia’s pivoting ball joint allows for a wider range of aquarium water movement without the hassle. All Hydor Koralia water pumps are fully submersible and are ideal for revitalizing hard-to-access “dead spots” in your aquarium. The patented, low energy consumption, propeller design generates water flow that is both powerful and delicate. Please compare Koralia pumps to the competition and you will find no other brand matches the quality, value or performance of Hydor.

Hydor Koralia Evolution: The next generation in aquarium water movement. These small, yet powerful powerheads were designed for all reef aquariums. These circulation pumps can be used as stand alone water pump or can be run on a wavemaker.

Hydor Koralia Original: The first generation of Koralia Pumps. These circulation powerheads were modeled Koralia Nano (400 gph), Koralia 1 (400 gph), Koralia 2 (600 gph), Koralia 3 (850 gph), and Koralia 4 (1200 gph).

Hydor Koralia Magnum: The Magnums guarantee unbelievable performance for probably the lowest power consumption of any pump on the market. Equipped with an electronic start up system, new technology rotors and propellers, compact in size, these pumps are an excellent value. Producing currents from 1650-3250 GPH, few pumps can compare. Koralia Magnums can be placed on aquariums from .5″ to .8″ thick.

Hydor Koralia Wavemaker: Innovative wave-making system harnesses the power of Koralia submersible pumps. Enjoy the consistent performance of Koralia water circulation pumps and the flexibility and control of a wavemaker. The Hydor Koralia Wavemaker is a dedicated system that accepts up to 2 or 4, low-voltage Koralia Controllable Pumps of any model. Timer-controllable alternating or synchronized flow modes recreate natural wave and tidal effects. Adjustable flow rate fine-tunes water movement to satisfy the needs of your saltwater aquarium and its inhabitants. These features allow you to adjust the power without rearranging your aquarium as corals grow and new corals are added.

The Hydor Koralia Evolution powerheads are an improvement on the first generation of Koralia circulation pumps. Don’t get me wrong, the original product was excellent, but with a few upgrades the Evolution pumps set a new standard in aquarium water motion. A small footprint means they are less of a distraction in a reef aquarium. Increased efficiency and lower noise are major improvements of the Koralia EVO propeller pumps. The pumps are available in three sizes:

Koralia 750: 4.5 watts power, 750 gph, for aquariums 30-50 gallons (Koralia 2 Replacement)
Koralia 1050: 5 watts power, 1050 gph, for aquariums 45-70 gallons (Koralia 3 Replacement)
Koralia 1400: 6 watts power, 1400 gph, for aquariums 55-90 gallons (Koralia 4 Replacement)

The biggest noticeable difference between the EVO Koralias and the original powerheads is their reduced size. Koralia’s innovative combination magnet and suction cup mount features a built in silencer into the base for silent operation. One of the biggest engineering changes is the introduction of a shaftless propeller which reduces noise and frication and helps the EVO Koralias achieve amazing efficiency. All three models are controllable and can be connected to a controller or timer.

Customer Reviews:

“I replaced my two existing powerheads with two EVO 1050′s and couldn’t be more impressed.”

“A great addition to the already popular line of powerheads. For the price, this powerhead cannot be beat! If you buy one, you’ll want another.”

The Hydor Koralia Magnum powerheads are a continuation on the Koralia line. These powerful pumps are built for large aquariums or reef tanks requiring a wide, steam-like flow. If you plan to keep high flow corals like Acropora or Montipora, Koralia Magnum pumps are for you. With a strong magnet suction cup, the Koralia Magnum can be mounted to glass aquariums .5″ to .8″ thick and will not be easily moved by snails or large fish. Magnum pumps are available in four sizes:

Koralia Magnum 5: 8 watts, 1650 gph
Koralia Magnum 6: 10 watts, 2200 gph
Koralia Magnum 7: 12 watts, 2800 gph
Koralia Magnum 8: 19 watts, 3250 gph

The greatest difference between the Magnum Koralias and the original powerheads is their design. Although slightly larger, their incredible performance and low power consumption is unmatched by rivals. Each model measures 4.25″ x 6.5.”

Customer Reviews:

“This pump moves a ton of water and isn’t a strain on the power bill. I have purchased three of these pumps and I am more than pleased with their performance.”

“At first I was skeptical about using these pumps on my saltwater aquarium as I had always bought the more expensive powerheads. I went over to a friend’s house and saw them in action on his tank and was wow’d! I now recommend Hydor Koralia pumps to everyone in my local reef club.”
